We sleep well in
Hotel Novotel Nantes Centre Bord de Loire in
Nantes, and after a good breakfast we leave for Rouen at a quarter to 11.
Just before leaving Nantes, we canceled the hotel in Rouen, which we had booked in advance,
because there is no air conditioning and no parking.
We have booked a hotel with air conditioning and parking space, right in the center.
The ride, just under 400 km, goes well.
But in Rouen the GPS sends us to a street that is closed with a movable barrier for car
traffic.
And google on the phone also directs us to the same street.
We drive around three times, and suddenly we see a sign with the name of the hotel.
Another car stops behind us, and the driver knows how to open the movable barrier.
We drive to the hotel, and it appears that they have sent us an email with the code to open
the barrier.
But we don't read mail in the car.
The hotel,
Hotel Mercure Rouen Centre Cathedrale, with air conditioning and parking garage is
comfortable and is really in the middle of the center.
We walk into the center, and we notice the large number of half-timbered houses.
It seems like a place for a city trip.
We drink a beer at a beer cafe Delirium.
Then we walk around and we end up at a restaurant, L'Etoile D'Or, where they sell dishes
from a tagine.
We decide to eat there, and it tastes reasonable.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
